Black Lives - Hervé Samb Quartet

The songwriters of BLACK LIVES come from the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa; their songs draw on a wide range of influences and represent a rich sample of the infinite number of ways Black people experience life around the world. But beyond this diversity, what unites them above all is the desire to fight for equality and justice through music.

The live concerts highlight the diversity of generations and musical backgrounds of these artists. What is striking is the ease, authenticity, and inspiration with which the musicians traverse all musical horizons: jazz, soul, funk, 70s jazz-fusion, African music, rock, blues, and gospel… Everything is blended and magnified, sometimes with wild intensity, other times with subtle nuances.
