WUNDERLAND

The band WUNDERLAND was formed by Alice Schneider (singer & actress), originally from Vienna, Austria, composer O de Mars (keyboards & programming), Stéphane Commecy (electrodrums), and Simon Léger (rock bass). With lyrics imbued with humor and irony, their musical atmospheres oscillate between 80s Anglo-Saxon electropop and traditional French chanson. WUNDERLAND creates its own sonic identity by elegantly combining the warmth of analog instruments with the sharp edge of digital sounds. In live performances, the band performs amidst the unusual light sculptures of artist Philippe Chauvin. After releasing their first self-produced EP in 2012, they played in various venues in Paris as well as in Vienna, Austria, as part of the ParisVienne festival, which they co-founded with Tini Trampler (Playbackdolls).
During 2013, WUNDERLAND took up residence at the Grand Parquet, as part of an event organised by the Compagnie Les Arts et Mouvants.
Among the guest artists was jazz saxophonist Olivier Temime, a founding member of the group Volunteered Slaves. He was immediately drawn to their music and played it for Vincent Artaud, arranger of the music for the multi-Oscar-winning film "The Artist," among other works. Artaud liked the group's sound, selected four tracks, and offered to record them in the studio.
